We are currently undergoing scheduled maintenance and will experience a short period of downtime in the next few hours. We appreciate you patience and understanding while we work to improve your Patronicity experience.
This campaign reached its goal on Dec 3, 2017 10:00 PM.
Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue is a Registered 501(c)(3), Tax ID 38-2937738.
The Downtown Synagogue is the last free-standing synagogue in Detroit, deep in the heart of downtown. We have held free High Holiday and Shabbat services since we opened our doors in 1921. More recently we have expanded our offerings to include a broad range of educational, social, family and interfaith social justice programs. You have come to services or meals, Tot Shabbats, chocolate tastings, Purim shpiels and dance parties. Or perhaps you just like knowing that there is a synagogue in the city. Now is the time to show your support for the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, by pledging to our Annual Campaign!
Downtown Synagogue: Keep it Free! will allow the synagogue to continue offering its programs free of charge.
The Downtown Synagogue in recent past has been surviving through grants from generous foundations. Our goal is to begin to shift the financial responsibility onto the wide network that utilizes the Downtown Synagogue through an online Annual Campaign. This year we are calling it Downtown Synagogue: Keep it Free!
Doug Denard says about coming to the synagogue, “I never felt more welcomed. It was such a great celebration of life and faith. I shall never forget it.”
Dina S. Paulson-McEwen writes, “Perhaps what stands out the most about IADS is its commitment to investigating a Judaism 'of now,' and its interest in welcoming the city of Detroit, Jews and non-Jews alike, into being a part of that conversation as the city itself undergoes its own type of evolution.”
The Downtown Synagogue works in partnership with the Detroit Interfaith Outreach Network, Riverfront East Congregational Initiative, Detroit Jews for Justice, JServe, Business 2 Business, JFSJ Leadership Cohort, Grosse Pointe Jewish Council, The Well, Reconstructionist Congregation of Detroit, Congregation T’Chiyah, Chabad, Jewish Historical Society of Michigan, Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies, Hillel of Metro Detroit, Repair the World, PeerCorps, JTot, Bethel Community Transformation Center, Eden Gardens Block Club, BBYO, MCUSY, NextGEN, Hazon, JBaby, Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies, PresenTense, Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, and more.
