This campaign reached its goal on Jul 18, 2018 1:15 AM.
City of Garden City Department of Community Resources is a tax-exempt government organization, Tax ID 38-6004685.
Every year, hundreds of Garden City residents use City Park to run, walk, bike or roller-blade for fun and exercise. That's a great start for making our community a healthy place to live, but what if we could do a full workout at City Park? Thanks to this campaign, we have the opportunity to do just that!
The National Fitness Campaign (NFC) Fitness Court is a world class outdoor gym re-imagined to fit in and transform public spaces. The NFC ecosystem combines a simple, seven-minute, high quality workout with connected, digital platforms to build fit communities through bodyweight circuit training. With the installation of this outdoor gym, City Park will become the perfect place to walk, run, bike and workout for free!
We are excited to make fitness available to all in Garden City, but we need YOUR SUPPORT to make it happen. Please donate today to help us reach our goal!
Location, Location, Location!
The Fitness Court will be located in our beloved City Park in an underused area on the southeast side of the park, just west of the softball fields near the east end of the parking lot. City Park already has great amenities like playgrounds, ball fields, sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, barbecue grills and a youth fitness station; the addition of an outdoor gym will make the park an even more exciting destination and give everyone an opportunity to stay fit and active.
Imagine being able to workout while your kids played nearby or fitting in a quick circuit during your normal run on the path through the park!
It's All in the Equipment
The fitness court will include 30 individual pieces of equipment and a shock-resistant sports flooring. The Court will include equipment to assist with core, strength, agility and flexibility training. The equipment will be grouped into exercise stations that allow for up to 28 individuals to use the court at the same time. You can follow an NFC-recommended routine, or create your own; you can use this as your main workout or add it into your normal gym rotation. The possibilities for customization or endless!
The Fitness Court builds community and makes fitness fun. Challenge yourself, your friends and your community to get outside and get active!
Don't forget the Mobile App!
The free NFC mobile app makes it easy to personalize every workout. The app features videos of personal trainers detailing the movements to their 7, 14 and 21-minute workouts and it lets you select music from your own playlist to help keep you motivated.
Sponsor Opportunities
The option to do a full workout in Garden City's City Park is a great benefit all on its own, but if you or your business are interested in taking your support to the next level, you can check out our AWESOME sponsorship opportunities on the right side of this page. Below are photos of a few sponsor levels, but we have many more that you can take advantage of!
