A dog park for Evansville, Indiana!

People love dog parks! They are great opportunities for doggie socializing as well as human socializing! Dog parks are the fastest growing community assets across the country and Evansville is about to join the pack!

The park will be centrally located on Evansville's beautiful State Hospital grounds, a serene and picturesque space. Our goal is to provide and sustain a premiere off-leash dog park in the Southwest Indiana region.

You are thinking, "what else besides a fence does one need for a dog park?"

  • We will have hydration centers in each of the 3 park areas.
  • There will be two shelters flanking the 3 areas allowing for shade and relaxation.
  • We will have a security system for members to access the areas during opening hours and we will have free public access on consistent basis
  • There is a secure 5 foot fence to provide safety and freedom for running and playing dogs.

Our park partners: Adam Green, Architect; Morley Engineering Firm; ARC Construction Co.

If we raise $45,000, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority provide a matching grant of $45,000, but ONLY if we meet our goal.

This project is a privately funded and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

We are under construction and have an event!

KayC's Barkville at Woodmere is under construction! The land is staked off for the water department and CenterPoint to do their "thing."  Road access for construction trucks and other vehicles is being created.  We are anxiously awaiting excavation to begin - (hopefully) early next month (weather permitting!)

But - our most exciting news is that we are having an Adoptathon at the site of the Park on Saturday, June 15, from 10:30am to 2:00pm.  Please come by and see our progress and check out the doggies that will be available to adopt!

We can't wait to see you!
