Oakland County is one of the many threads that create the diverse tapestry that is metro Detroit. Our 25 Main Streets represent some of the best the Great Lakes State has to offer. At any other time, our downtowns are welcoming, vibrant, places alive with a soul and passion that define us. We are a patchwork of town and country locales where neighbors help neighbors, “Main Street” is shown off as a place of pride, and Mom and Pop stores are the first to answer the call for help. We’ve been there to welcome you home, welcome you back, dazzle at the holidays, find a special something, or tease your senses by sight, sound, taste, touch, and memory. We are the Main Streets of Oakland County, and now, we need you.

Funding to support small businesses at this critical time is evaporating. Funding will be awarded through a local application process from each community, and their respective and identified downtown districts, where their local businesses can receive help on things such as (Rent, Supplies, Marketing, and Payroll). Every community will be able to determine their own application, review, and distribution process according to the needs and priorities they set. Small businesses will be defined as 30 employees or less, and independently owned and operated.
The funds will be held at the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester in Oakland County. The funds will then be disbursed to the participating to communities at the end of the campaign.
These 25 communities are currently eligible and designated as part of the Main Street Oakland County Program.
That’s fine and we thank you. Funds may be directed to the Main Street Oakland County campaign as well. We will in turn make grants to the participating and eligible communities to support them in their COVID 19 relief efforts.
